Many of you have asked a follow-up course of “The Joy of Abstract Art” (or other earlier versions…). It has now arrived!
If you have enjoyed listening to the sound of pens and pencils running across the page, taken pleasure in watching strange shapes unfold on paper, if you liked being surprised, then I would love to have you in my studio again for this second workshop!
We will repeat some of the exercises we have done in the first workshop (as we all need to warm-up!) alongside some new ones, and then dive into some longer, more elaborate and perhaps “finished” artworks. The emphasis will still be on abstraction, however there will naturally be some figuration we can embrace. We will also go deeper in the use of collage techniques, and take these “off the page” completely!
The aim of this course is, much like the first one, to enjoy ourselves in the act of creation, to realise that we all can make art and that we benefit from making it. We will practice making art, as art is a practice above all, and we will open-up a space where creativity can flow through, even when we all have a voice inside our heads that tells us that we can’t…
